4-Man Car Snatching Gang Busted in Nasarawa—Stolen Toyota Venza Recovered Within 24 Hours

Nasarawa Police arrest car snatching syndicate and recover stolen Toyota Venza




Police operatives from the Doma Division in Nasarawa State have dismantled a four-man car snatching syndicate, arresting all suspects and recovering a stolen Toyota Venza less than 24 hours after the crime was committed.


According to a statement released by the Nasarawa State Police Command spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, the suspects were intercepted on June 1, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., along the Doma-Lafia Road following actionable intelligence and swift inter-state coordination.


The arrested individuals were identified as:


Ibrahim Dahiru (30) from Jos, Plateau State


Abdulrazaq Muhammed (27) from Jos, Plateau State


Muhammad Sani (28) from Potiskum, Yobe State


Mustapha Isah (23) from Misau, Bauchi State


Investigations revealed that the gang had earlier committed an armed carjacking in Enugu State, during which they stole a black Toyota Venza with Abuja registration number KWL 668 GN at gunpoint.

    “The suspects were caught with the stolen vehicle in their possession,” said SP Nansel, praising the seamless coordination between Enugu and Nasarawa police forces.


    Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the fight against organized vehicle theft. “This swift arrest underscores our commitment to proactive policing and public safety,” he stated.


    CP Mohammed also urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing timely information that could prevent such crimes.


    The successful operation has been lauded as a model for inter-state policing collaboration and highlights the ongoing threat of organized vehicle theft rings across Nigeria.
