Ugandan Woman Arrested for Murdering Husband, Burying Body Under Bedroom Floor

A 43-year-old Ugandan woman, Sharon Nshemereirwe, has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband and burying his body beneath their bedroom floor.

The crime, which shocked a rural community in Buhweju district, involves a twisted tale of land disputes, paternity secrets, and betrayal.

Police reports reveal that Nshemereirwe killed her husband, Beinomugisha, by hitting him with a hammer while he slept. She then wrapped his body in bedsheets and buried him under their bedroom floor, later telling relatives he had "gone to South Sudan for work."

Suspicions grew when Nshemereirwe locked the bedroom and slept in the sitting room. Her 13-year-old son, Silver, was sent away on the day of the murder, raising further red flags.

Investigators uncovered that Beinomugisha had doubted the paternity of their newborn baby, leading to frequent fights. Relatives also alleged land sale disputes before his death.

The body was exhumed on April 31, and a post-mortem confirmed the murder. Nshemereirwe now faces charges, while the community demands justice.
