A Nigerian soldier with Operation UDOKA was fatally shot by suspected IPOB/ESN fighters after sneaking to a "Ladies' Jamboree" stripper party in Anambra while in uniform.
Military sources disclosed the incident occurred May 18 in Uli when the soldier abandoned his post. His body and a baby's corpse were later recovered.
"He attended the party in camouflage without permission. Suspected IPOB militants targeted him," a security source told PUNCH. The army retrieved his weapon, but Defense Operations spokesman Maj.-Gen. Kangye remained unreachable.
This marks the latest in IPOB's alleged attacks on security personnel in Southeast Nigeria. Analysts warn the incident could escalate tensions in the restive region.
