Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle secure UEFA Champions League spots

Manchester City, Chelsea, and Newcastle United have secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League following a dramatic final day in the 2024/25 Premier League season. Aston Villa missed out after a heartbreaking defeat at Manchester United.

City clinched their spot with a 2-0 victory over Fulham, thanks to a stunning overhead goal from Ilkay Gündogan and a late penalty from Erling Haaland. The win ensured they finished third and avoided missing the Champions League for the first time since 2009.

Chelsea, under Enzo Maresca’s leadership, edged Nottingham Forest 1-0 to claim fourth place and return to Europe’s top competition. Forest, who had spent much of the season in the top four, slipped to seventh and settled for the UEFA Conference League.
