The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Jemilu Abdullahi and Samsondeen Isiaku, for allegedly vandalizing streetlight cables along Ijegun-Jakande Road. According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, the suspects were caught in the act during a routine patrol by officers from the Isheri Oshun Division on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Hundeyin confirmed that an investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court. This arrest follows a similar incident in April where two other vandals were apprehended in the Ile-Zik area for destroying public infrastructure.
In the earlier case, Peter James (26) and Lesipi Adamu (24) were arrested after residents alerted the police. Recovered tools included sledgehammers, cutting saws, and scissors. The suspects were charged with conspiracy, theft, and destruction of public property.
