Kelly Okungbowa, alias Ebo Stone and suspended head of the Edo Public Safety Response Team (PSRT), has been arraigned by the EFCC on two counts of naira abuse and mutilation. The charges were filed before Justice C.A. Obiozor of the Federal High Court in Benin City on Monday.
Okungbowa allegedly sprayed and stepped on ₦300,000 in cash during two separate events in November 2024 and March 2025. One of the incidents occurred at Uyi Grand Marquee while he danced with a socialite known as “Mummy Shallipopi.”

The EFCC charged the Benin-based socialite under the Central Bank of Nigeria Act for tampering with legal tender. Okungbowa pleaded not guilty, and the court has adjourned the matter to May 27, 2025, for bail consideration.
His arraignment comes after Governor Monday Okpebholo suspended PSRT operations following widespread public complaints and a child fatality during a confrontation between PSRT officials and a commercial driver.
