Premium Trust Bank Staff Among Five Arraigned for Attempted Cyber Theft - EFCC

EFCC arraigns Premium Trust Bank staff for alleged cybercrime in Lagos court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned two Premium Trust Bank employees and three others for allegedly attempting to compromise the bank's IT systems to steal customer deposits.


Kehinde Odeyemi and Matthew Adeniyi Damilola (bank staff) alongside Samson Dakup, Bolaji Yinka, and Sunday Okunola were charged with seven counts of cybercrime before Justice Alexander Owoeye at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi.

    According to the EFCC, the defendants conspired between April-May 2025 to manipulate the bank's server IP and domain credentials. The anti-graft agency intercepted the breach before funds were stolen.


    All five pleaded not guilty. While prosecution counsel Zeenat Atiku sought trial dates and remand, defense lawyers made oral bail applications which the judge rejected, ordering formal filings. The defendants were remanded at Kirikiri and Ikoyi Correctional Centers.
