Anambra police arrest kidnap suspects in midnight raid



Anambra State Police have dismantled a notorious kidnapping ring, arresting four suspects in a dramatic late-night raid in Uke, Idemili North LGA.


According to DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson, operatives from the Rapid Response Squad and Anti-Kidnapping Unit stormed the gang’s hideout based on intelligence.


The raid recovered three stolen vehicles—a black Lexus GS 350, an ash Toyota Camry, and a navy blue Toyota Corolla—along with an HP laptop, methamphetamine (Mkpurummiri), and car theft tools.


The suspects—Chigozie Udolisa (a.k.a. T. Dollars), Anaolu Joseph (a.k.a. Blue), Chukwuka Udolisa (a.k.a. Udokamiri), and Chinaza Udemezue—are linked to kidnapping, armed robbery, and car theft. During interrogation, Chinaza revealed her armed boyfriend escaped with their weapons.


Police confirmed the suspects are cooperating, with plans to charge them to court soon. The operation highlights Anambra Police’s intensified crackdown on violent crime.
