Former Abia State Governor and current Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed that President Bola Tinubu was deeply unhappy with only securing 4% of votes in Abia State during the 2023 presidential election.
The shocking revelation came during a stakeholders' meeting Kalu convened in Abuja to unite APC members in Abia.
Kalu, who represents Abia North in the National Assembly, contrasted Tinubu's poor performance with Buhari's 68% vote in 2019, calling the 4% result "worrisome" given APC's strong presence in the state.
The senator emphasized the need for the South East to join Nigeria's political mainstream to benefit from national development.
"Even me, I can't believe we only got 4% for Tinubu in Abia," Kalu stated on his Facebook page. He clarified that the meeting focused on strengthening APC in Abia and didn't discuss Governor Alex Otti's performance.
