A hotel manager in Lagos' Dopemu area has been detained by the police following the sudden death of a woman who arrived at the establishment with an unidentified man.
The Lagos State Police Command's spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Sunday, detailing that the hotel manager reported the case late on Friday.
According to the manager, the woman arrived at the hotel with a man around 9:30 p.m. for a short stay.
However, an hour later, the woman reportedly felt unwell and rushed out of the room, complaining of feeling hot.
After being given cold water to drink, her condition didn’t improve, and she was transported to a nearby hospital.
Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead, and the man who accompanied her had fled the scene.
The manager is currently in police custody as part of an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of death, with the woman’s body transferred to Mainland General Hospital for an autopsy.
Efforts are underway to identify both the deceased and the man who absconded.
