The UNICEF Nutrition Specialist, Philomena Irene, emphasized the importance of this initiative in reducing risks like low birth weight and maternal anemia.

As part of a new scale-up initiative, Bauchi has received 134,280 bottles of multiple micronutrient supplements, with more on the way.

The program is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and aims to significantly improve maternal health in the region.
