Nigerian activist and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has raised concerns over a missing bag after his release from immigration detention.

Sowore was detained by authorities at Lagos’ international airport upon his return from the U.S. on Sunday.

Speaking in a viral interview with Arise TV, Sowore shared his frustration, stating that one of his bags remains missing. “After they gave me back my seized passport, I went to get my bag. One of my big bags is still missing,” he said.

Sowore hinted at possible foul play, jokingly suggesting that Nigeria's Department of State Services (DSS) might be involved. “I hope it’s not the DSS that took it,” he remarked, adding that airline trackers confirmed the bag arrived in Lagos.
