Marc Guiu Rejects Barcelona Offer to Join Chelsea in Premier League Move

Barcelona's Marc Guiu rejected a major contract offer to join Chelsea during the summer transfer window, says sporting director Deco.

Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, has confirmed that young striker Marc Guiu rejected a significant contract offer from the club before making the switch to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Guiu's contract with Barca included a €6 million release clause, which Chelsea activated to secure his move.

Despite Barcelona's proposal for an important project and role for Guiu, the player opted for a new challenge in the Premier League.

Deco stated that while Barcelona had high hopes for Guiu as a future striker for the club, the 18-year-old chose to join Chelsea for their vision and opportunities.
