UK Issues 430,000 Visas to Nigerians in 2024 Amid High Demand
The United Kingdom (UK) government has issued 430,000 visas to Nigerians seeking to study and relocate to the UK in 2024.
British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Richard Montgomery, shared this information during a meeting with Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), in Abuja on Wednesday.
Montgomery assured the Federal Government of Nigeria of the UK's commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens, despite ongoing unrest.
He emphasized the UK’s diverse population and highlighted measures taken to address criminal activities, including the establishment of 60 special courts and the arrest of approximately 400 individuals.
Dabiri-Erewa confirmed that no Nigerian casualties had been reported and commended the UK government for its swift actions. She advised Nigerians to remain vigilant and adhere to travel advisories.
