NLC Vows to Resist Silence Over Mass Suffering in Nigeria

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has vowed to continue its fight against the government's anti-people policies, despite recent attempts to silence its leadership. 

NLC President Joe Ajaero was summoned by the police on accusations including conspiracy, terrorism financing, and treason.

However, the NLC remains undeterred, promising to mobilize its affiliates to shut down the economy if Ajaero is arrested.

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, representing Ajaero, explained that the NLC leader could not attend the police summons until August 29.

The NLC has reiterated its commitment to opposing policies that have led to mass suffering and hunger, accusing certain interest groups of attempting to stifle its efforts.
