The Kogi State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is initiating suspension proceedings against Senator Dino Melaye following his controversial statement declaring the party "dead." The PDP, seeking to restore its reputation and leadership, has urged its local executive committee in Ijumu to act swiftly. 

Party elders, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Dansofo, expressed concerns over Melaye's continued membership, citing his inability to secure political victories.

They have called on key party figures, including Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, to reconsider their support for Melaye, who they describe as a liability.
