This initiative began with a two-day consultation in Dakar, Senegal, focusing on developing Africa's first Multisectoral Nutrition Policy Framework (MNPF) and setting investment targets to combat malnutrition.

The event gathered key stakeholders from nine West African countries to establish strategies aimed at reducing malnutrition rates, including stunting, wasting, and anemia.

The initiative, stemming from a resolution passed during the African Union's 41st Executive Council meeting, seeks to mobilize resources and political will to support sustainable nutrition policies. 

As preparations begin for the Nutrition for Growth Summit in France next year, African nations are urged to unite in this fight against malnutrition, setting a precedent for other regions to follow.
