Nigeria President Buhari says no third term ambition
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday ruled out a third term in office.
He spoke at a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
The parley was held on the margins of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda.
Buhari reiterated his resolve to respect the maximum term limit in the Nigerian Constitution.
The PM had asked if the Nigerian leader would run for office again.
“Another term for me? No! The first person who tried it didn’t end very well”, he said.
On insecurity, Buhari said after the Muammar Gadaffi regime, armed guards in countries in the Sahel have been causing havoc.
“The only thing they know how to do is to shoot guns”, he lamented. Dailypost
