In Benin: Edo Lord’s Chosen Church members’ bodies recovered, suspected killers arrested

The Edo State Commissioner of police, Mr Lawan Jimeta, on Tuesday announced the arrest of five kidnappers involved in the abduction and murder of two members of the Lord’s Chosen Church, Basil Odoji and Innocent Udoh, who were on their way to Abuja from Lagos in January this year.

The decomposed bodies of the victims were recovered and deposited at Our Clinic Morgue, Ikpoba Hill in Benin, the Edo State capital.

Jimetta, at the command headquarters in Benin, said he has also decongested police cells across the state to check the spread of coronavirus, just as he said men of the command were trailing and tracking the kidnappers of the Edo State Commissioner for Science and Technology, BEmmanuel Agbale, who was kidnapped on Friday.

“Five kidnappers named Abdullahi Usman, Abdulkadiri Mohammed, Mohammed Lawan, Bello Umar and Musa Lawan alleged to be involved in the kidnap and murder of two Lord’s Chosen Church of God members –  Basil Odoji and Innocent Udoh –  have been  arrested. The decomposed bodies of the victims were recovered and deposited at Our Clinic Morgue, Ikpoba Hill,” he said.

One hundred and forty six other suspected criminals, including suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, fraudsters, rapists and murderers were paraded at the command. Punch
