Operatives of the FCT Police Command have arrested Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya, the father of Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye, following a viral video of a domestic assault.
The arrest came after a midnight distress call on Friday, May 8, 2026, when Ilebaye launched an Instagram livestream crying for help while being physically assaulted.
According to SP Josephine Adeh, the command's PPRO, a patrol team from the Wuye Division was deployed to the Royal Anchor Estate.

After several attempts to gain entry through a locked gate, officers rescued Ilebaye and her brothers at 2:30 a.m. Ilebaye, who was found with visible bruises, was immediately rushed to the NNPC Hospital in Abuja for medical attention.
According to Qubes Magazine, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya remains in police custody as a thorough investigation is launched to determine the full circumstances behind the attack.
The swift intervention of the police followed a massive social media outcry from concerned Nigerians and fellow celebrities.
