A Nigerian national, Kenneth Godwin, is facing up to 20 years in a United States federal prison following an indictment for his alleged role in a sophisticated wire and computer fraud scheme.
US District Attorney Ron Parsons announced that a federal grand jury indicted Godwin for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and unauthorized access to a protected computer.
Prosecutors allege that between May 2023 and March 2026, Godwin collaborated with others while residing in Nigeria to embezzle funds from the Prairie Wind Casino & Hotel, a business operated by the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.
