Popular Nigerian artist Bella Shmurda has shared a deep perspective on his craft, stating that music goes far beyond simple entertainment.
Speaking in a recent documentary titled For Bunmi, the "Cash App" hitmaker described the industry and the art form as a high-stakes environment.
“Music is warfare. Music is a tool for the society. Music is a tool of progress,” he explained, emphasizing that it serves as an instrument of goodwill and mental sanity.
Shmurda further noted that music helps people "dance away their sorrow" while keeping them self-conscious.
Beyond the societal impact, the singer revealed that becoming a father has fundamentally changed how he approaches his lyrics.
He admitted to being more intentional about his songs now, as he wants his children to be proud of his legacy when they grow up.
