2027 Presidency: Portable Threatens Spiritual Judgment for Yorubas Who Don't Vote Tinubu
Controversial Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has sparked a fresh wave of political debate after threatening his fellow Yorubas with "spiritual judgment" ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a viral video broadcast, the Zazu singer placed curses on any individual from the Southwest who works against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid, claiming that tribal loyalty is essential for national peace.
Portable further revealed that he has been officially contracted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to act as a campaign ambassador.
Donning APC-branded attire in the video, he boasted about his upcoming role in grassroots mobilization.
“We need peace, we want peace. If you don’t want war in Nigeria, you better vote for Tinubu. Thunder and Ogun will strike any Yoruba man who doesn’t,” the singer declared in his signature unfiltered style.
The singer also promised his followers that he would soon begin the distribution of essential commodities, including rice and vegetable oil, as part of his campaign efforts.
While Portable’s endorsements are often met with mixed reactions, his latest outburst highlights the early start of political maneuvering for the 2027 cycle and the increasing reliance on celebrity influencers to drive political narratives in Nigeria.
