Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has fired back in the legal dispute over her satirical apology video directed at Senate President Godswill Akpabio, asserting that no court order was violated and no evidence of prejudice exists.
In a legal counter-response filed in Abuja and obtained by Punch Newspaper, the Kogi Central senator argued that her video was protected under free speech laws and that satire is a legitimate form of political expression. She maintained that Akpabio’s legal team failed to prove any "actual or likely prejudice" caused by the clip.
The controversy stems from Akpoti-Uduaghan’s earlier allegations against Akpabio, followed by her viral mock apology video, which critics called disrespectful. However, the senator insists her actions were within legal bounds, stating:
"The law must not be twisted to silence political commentary when no legal line has been crossed."
The court is expected to rule soon, with public interest surging over this clash between political satire and legal limits.
