The Kano State Police Command has arrested 35-year-old Shu'aibu Abdulkadir for the brutal murder of 22-year-old housewife Rumaisa Haruna in what investigators describe as a gruesome crime.
According to police spokesperson DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the suspect was apprehended on Friday after weeks of intensive investigation. "The arrested suspect has confessed to strangling and stabbing the victim in the neck, leading to her death," Kiyawa revealed in an official statement.
The tragic incident occurred on April 6, 2025, when Haruna's husband Ibrahim Mohammed discovered her lifeless body in a pool of blood at their Tsamiyar Duhuwa residence in Farawa Quarters. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she was declared dead on arrival.
Police Commissioner Ibrahim Bakori commended investigators for their swift action, stating: "The command remains unwavering in its commitment to residents' safety." He urged the public to report suspicious activities to authorities.

Investigators disclosed that Abdulkadir, a resident of Madatai Quarters, is currently in custody as police work to determine possible motives or accomplices. The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
