Nigerian Navy Destroys Eight Illegal Bunkering Sites in Ondo State, Seizes 50,000 Litres of Stolen Crude Oil

The Nigerian Navy has dismantled eight illegal bunkering sites in Obe-Akinboye, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State. The operation, conducted by the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Igbokoda, led to the seizure of approximately 50,000 litres of stolen crude oil.  


Captain Aliyu Usman reported that the sites contained storage tanks, wooden boats, pumping machines, and discharge pipes used for illegal refining activities. The operation was initiated following intelligence reports and executed around 3:00 AM. 


The Navy has reiterated its commitment to combating maritime crimes and warned perpetrators to desist from such activities.
