As the 2024 Paralympic Games kick off in Paris next week, the Refugee Paralympic Team aims to inspire the world by pursuing victory in various sports, showcasing resilience and hope.

Comprising eight Paralympians and one guide, these athletes, who have fled conflict and persecution, are determined to shine on the global stage.
Competing in six sports—para-athletics, para-powerlifting, para-table tennis, para-taekwondo, para-triathlon, and wheelchair fencing—the team embodies the spirit of perseverance.

Among them is Ibrahim Al Hussein, a Syrian athlete who lost parts of both feet in the 2012 civil war.
Al Hussein, now competing in para-triathlon, emphasizes the team's mission: "This is a message of hope to the whole world and a message of hope to everyone who feels hopeless or lacks the spirit of perseverance."

The Refugee Paralympic Team will proudly lead the march at the Opening Ceremony on August 28 along the Champs-Elysees.
