The shift was announced by the Minister for Sports Development, John Owan Enoh, during the Joint Technical Committee Meeting at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, Asaba.
This change is due to the upcoming Edo State gubernatorial elections on September 21, which will lead to a lockdown and movement restrictions.
The new date ensures that contingents, particularly those from the South-West, can travel without violating any restrictions.
