Mentoring programme enlists 41 senior African, U.S. communications experts
Comms Avenue has drawn its fifth batch of 41 senior communications professionals as mentors for its Comms Mentoring Programme (CMP).
The experts were drawn from leading organisations in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Mauritius, Namibia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Angola and the United States.
Created to bridge the mentoring gap between senior and younger professionals in Africa’s communications industry, CMP is one of the high-impact initiatives pioneered by The Comms Avenue.
The fifth batch, which officially commences tomorrow (Saturday), would parade Lead, Internal Communications, Mastercard Foundation, Olayinka Edmond; Managing Director, Ghana & Global COO, Abjel Communications, Dorcas Aba Anna; Group Head, Brand Marketing and Communications, FSDH Group, Babs Adenuga; Senior Manager, Marketing, Branding and Communication, Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, Catherine Shipushu; Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, FBNQuest, Barbara Ezeife; Regional Marketing Manager, Dufil Prima Industries, Kunle Osinoiki, among others as mentors.
So far, over 70 young communications professionals have reasonably benefitted from CMP through career growth, and access to new job opportunities, among others.
The firm’s Co-founder, Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, said: “We set a goal at the beginning of the year to impact 100 young communications professionals in Africa through the CMP in 2022. I am glad that with the fifth batch, we have exceeded that goal, thanks to the senior professionals, who volunteered their time and expertise to mentor the younger professionals in the industry.” Theguardianng
