Silva, Ozokwor, others celebrate Nigerian women in ‘Ada the Country’

Veteran actresses, Joke Silva, Patience Ozokwor and Kate Henshaw, are some of the thespians that will thrill theatre goers at Doyenne Circle’s musical production, ‘Ada The Country’.

The musical, which highlights the power of the Nigerian woman, will hold at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos from April 15 to 18, 2022.

Other actresses billed to feature in the musical include Bikiya Douglas, Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah, Kemi Akindoju, Oluchi Odii, Tosin Adeyemi and Imoh Eboh.

According to a stamen sent to Merrymakers, the musical tells the story of Ada, who loses her nine-month-old daughter, and property to a fire incident which she barely survived. The traumatic experience sends her into depression but with the support of women across different generations, who have been through such harrowing experiences, she is able to walk through a process of restoration.

The musical is written by writer, poet and performer, Titilope Sonuga; and directed by Akindoju, who also acts in it. Punchng
