Argentine World Cup winner Enzo Fernández is dominating global sports headlines after Manchester City opted not to meet Chelsea's strict £120 million (~€140 million) valuation before Chelsea's self-imposed Friday deadline.
Chelsea executives set a hard deadline of 5:00 PM UK time on August 14 for interested clubs to present a formal offer matching their £120 million price tag.
City manager Enzo Maresca—who coached Fernández during his time at Stamford Bridge—identified the 25-year-old playmaker as his primary target to reinforce City’s midfield following Rodri's pending move to Barcelona.
