The consumer welfare initiative is trending at the absolute peak of national business news because the Federal Government of Nigeria officially launched the Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) scheme.
Jointly executed by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) and the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, the program is designed to democratize technology access by allowing qualifying Nigerians to acquire brand-new laptops, smartphones, and tablets through structured, spread-out monthly repayments rather than paying steep upfront costs.
The digital rollout has sparked widespread engagement across social platforms as tech talent, students, and freelancers register on the official application portal (`credicorp.ng/clickd`).
Under the scheme's initial rollout phase, CREDICORP is prioritizing local manufacturing by distributing 1,000 locally assembled laptops—manufactured in partnership with NASENI and Imose Technologies—to fellows within the government's Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program and other recognized digital skill hubs.
Applicants are actively circulating the six basic requirements—including employment/student verification, BVN/NIN verification, and income tiering—to ensure seamless approval for financing.
