The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully secured the unconditional rescue of three teenage boys who had been held in the dense, highly volatile criminal hideouts of the Northwest.
The breakthrough was achieved on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at approximately 1:00 PM during an aggressive, confidence-building tactical patrol inside the notorious Bingi Forest area of Maru Local Government Area.
The joint security operation comprised elite personnel from the Motorcycle Patrol Unit of the 42 Police Mobile Force, the newly minted Violent Crime Response Unit, and heavily armed local combatants from the Zamfara Community Protection Guard (CPG).
The rescued victims have been officially identified as 15-year-old Yusuf Ibrahim, 17-year-old Basiru Yusuf, and 18-year-old Mubarak Ibrahim.
