Brazil national team head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has officially unveiled his definitive tactical blueprint for veteran forward Neymar ahead of the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup kick-off this June.
The legendary tactician provided the crucial structural breakdown during an extensive post-match press briefing over the weekend, following Brazil’s commanding 6-2 routing of Panama in an international friendly match.
Neymar was conspicuously absent from the matchday squad as he undergoes the final phases of clinical rehabilitation for a lingering muscle injury, allowing younger stars Raphinha and Vinicius Junior to dominate the flanks.

Addressing media inquiries on how the iconic Santos forward will be integrated into the Seleção's starting eleven upon his return to peak fitness, Ancelotti insisted that Neymar will no longer operate as a traditional wide winger.
Instead, the Italian manager intends to optimize Neymar’s elite spatial intelligence and playmaking capabilities by deploying him strictly through the central corridors of the pitch.
"Neymar has to play in the position he’s meant to play; that is in the center of the field; he can’t play on the wing," Ancelotti asserted.
