The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vehemently denied reports of an alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Speaking during a road project inspection in Abuja on Thursday, Wike described the claims as "Political 419" and a fraudulent attempt to mislead the Nigerian public ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike pointed fingers at Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, accusing him of fabricating the alliance narrative to further his own presidential ambitions.

According to the Minister, neither the PDP leadership nor the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has any record of such a coalition.
Wike asserted that Makinde is attempting to use the APM platform because his prospects within the PDP are non-existent.
According to Qubes Magazine, the Minister also addressed the political situation in Rivers State, dismissing calls for "pity" regarding the governor’s standing.
Wike maintained that the PDP remains an independent entity currently focused on its internal screening processes, and he vowed that the party would not be used as a vehicle for what he described as "imaginary" political alliances.
