A 37-year-old suspect, Ziaulihak Zakari, also known as "Abuja," has allegedly confessed to carrying out a brutal acid attack on a female spa worker in the Lakowe area of Lagos.
However, in a shocking twist, Zakari admitted that he attacked the wrong person.
The victim, Olorunseunfunmi Awosogbon, suffered severe burns to her head, chest, and hands during the incident on October 25, 2025.
Zakari, who was arrested in March 2026, revealed in a video that he was recruited by a man named Daniel for ₦500,000.

He explained that the intended target was actually Awosogbon's employer, Olorunmaye Ifeoluwa, following a bitter relationship dispute.
“I mistook the target and attacked the wrong person,” Zakari stated, expressing regret. He further disclosed that he shared ₦50,000 of the blood money with a security guard who facilitated the connection.
According to Qubes Magazine, Zakari and his alleged accomplice, Owolabi Daniel, have been arraigned before the Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court.
The charges include conspiracy, threat to life, and causing grievous bodily harm. The court heard that Daniel had previously threatened Ifeoluwa’s life via WhatsApp before the botched contract was executed.
