Trump Vows to Destroy Iran’s Infrastructure as Middle East Ceasefire Approaches Deadline
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark ultimatum to Tehran, threatening to "knock out" Iran's power plants and bridges if a new deal is not reached before the current two-week ceasefire expires.
Taking to Truth Social on Sunday, Trump declared a "No More Mr. Nice Guy" approach as negotiators prepare to meet in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The threat comes just three days before the end of a ceasefire that halted the Middle East conflict triggered by U.S.-Israeli strikes in late February.
While a 21-hour negotiating session took place on April 11, Iran’s senior negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that both sides remain "far from the final discussion."
The negotiations center on Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
While Trump claims Iran has agreed to surrender its uranium, Tehran’s foreign ministry has denied such claims.
Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Guards have warned that any attempt to breach the Strait of Hormuz without permission will be met with force as the U.S. maintains its naval blockade on Iranian ports.
