Troops Destroy Terrorist Enclaves and Recover Logistics in Katsina Clearance Operation

Nigerian Army troops on a clearance operation in the forest areas of Katsina State

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade, in a strategic partnership with the Civilian Watch Group, successfully dismantled several terrorist hideouts during a clearance operation in Katsina State on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

The offensive, which commenced at approximately 8:00 a.m., targeted identified criminal enclaves in Malamawa, Jikamshi, and Musawa.

Security expert Zagazola Makama reported that while no direct contact was made with the insurgents, the troops effectively destroyed life-support structures within the camps to deny the criminals a base of operations.

The Nigerian Army remains on high alert, continuing to dominate the area to prevent the re-establishment of these camps and ensure the safety of the Matazu community.
