Clinical Barcelona Extend LaLiga Lead to 11 Points as Real Madrid’s Title Hopes Fade

FC Barcelona took a massive step toward securing the LaLiga title on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with a professional 2-0 victory over Getafe CF.

Playing without their star youngster Lamine Yamal, Hansi Flick’s men proved their tactical depth.

Fermin Lopez opened the scoring just before halftime following a Pedri assist, while Marcus Rashford doubled the lead in the second half, finishing a clinical counter-attack orchestrated by Robert Lewandowski.

The victory at the Coliseum Stadium, combined with Real Madrid's recent 1-1 draw, has pushed the gap at the top to a staggering 11 points.

While a Clásico is still on the horizon, the "illusion" of a late Madrid comeback is rapidly dissolving.

Barcelona will look to consolidate their lead further when they face CA Osasuna on May 2, with the trophy now well within their grasp.
