Manchester United legend Gary Neville has sent a clear message to Mikel Arteta: Arsenal must embrace a "freer" attacking style if they intend to secure a historic Double.
Analyzing the Gunners' 1-0 victory over Newcastle on Saturday, which placed them three points clear of Manchester City, Neville argued that the team currently appears too burdened by the pressure of the domestic title race.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville noted that while the win was crucial ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid, the players seem to be prioritizing the league over European glory.
"They need to be more free in their attacking play," Neville stated. "At the moment, I think they’re thinking 'we’ve got to win a league.' I don’t think they’re thinking 'we’ve got to win a Champions League.'"
