Leadership Confusion Hits Abia APC as Benjamin Kalu and Orji Uzor Kalu Claim Stakeholder Control

A leadership rift has emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State as two high-ranking officials claim President Bola Tinubu has placed them in charge of party affairs.

The state, currently governed by Alex Otti of the Labour Party, has become a strategic focus for the APC ahead of future elections.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, thanked the President for insisting that the highest-ranking political office holder should lead in non-APC states.

Simultaneously, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu released a statement claiming he received a "marching order" from the President to coordinate activities as the "most senior governor" in the state.

Both leaders expressed their commitment to uniting the party for the President's re-election, though the overlapping claims suggest a looming internal power struggle.
