Tragedy in Lagos: Couple Allegedly Beats Sick 10-Year-Old Adopted Daughter to Death
Residents of Jemesi Papa Street in the Igando area of Lagos State are in mourning after a couple, Paul Onyeama and Adline Ogbonna, allegedly beat their 10-year-old adopted daughter, Faith, to death.
Despite the child being ill for two weeks, the couple reportedly continued a pattern of severe physical abuse and strenuous labor.
The situation turned fatal on Sunday, April 26, 2026, when the couple allegedly assaulted the ailing girl until she became unresponsive. Outraged neighbors raised the alarm after the husband reportedly attempted to procure a tricycle to secretly dispose of the body.
While the suspects claimed the girl died during treatment, medical reports confirmed she was brought in dead (BID) to the hospital.
The case has been transferred to the State CID, Panti, for further investigation into charges of murder and child abuse.
