Afrobeats Goldmine! Nigerian Artists Raked in Over ₦60 Billion from Spotify in 2025

Spotify Loud and Clear report 2025 showing 60 billion naira revenue for Nigerian artists

Nigerian Artists Generated Over ₦60 Billion in Spotify Revenue for 2025

Spotify has released its highly anticipated Loud & Clear annual report in Lagos, revealing that Nigerian artists generated a staggering ₦60 billion ($43.8 million) in revenue from the platform in 2025.

This figure represents a massive 140% growth in streaming income over the last two years, shifting the narrative of Afrobeats from cultural influence to massive financial returns.

According to the data, Nigerian music saw 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion listening hours in 2025 alone.

Domestic support remains the backbone of the industry, with Nigerian artists occupying over 80% of Spotify Nigeria’s Daily Top 50 tracks.

Key Highlights from the 2025 Loud & Clear Report:

Independent Power: Independent creators earned 58% of all royalties, proving that major label deals are no longer the only path to wealth.

Millionaire Milestone: The number of Nigerian artists earning at least ₦10 million annually from Spotify has tripled since 2022.

Global Reach: Nigerian tracks appeared in nearly 320 million user-generated playlists worldwide.

Gender Growth: Listening to Nigerian female artists rose by 55% year-on-year.

The report highlights a "vertical trajectory" for the industry, as the ₦60 billion earned in 2025 significantly eclipses the ₦25 billion recorded in 2023 and the ₦11 billion from 2022.

This exponential growth cements Nigeria's status as a global powerhouse in the digital music economy.
