Prof. Chukwuma Soludo Sworn In for Second Term as Anambra State Governor
In a vibrant ceremony attended by the nation’s top political elite, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Gilbert Ibezim, have been officially sworn in for their second term as the leaders of Anambra State.
The inauguration took place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, administered the oath of office at approximately 11:05 am.
Soludo, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured his second mandate following his victory in the November 8, 2025 off-cycle governorship election.
High-profile dignitaries in attendance included Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing the Federal Government, alongside former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
"The ceremony marks the continuation of the 'Solution' mandate, following an interdenominational service held earlier on Sunday to pray for a successful tenure," officials noted.
Governor Soludo, accompanied by his wife and family, pledged to build upon the infrastructure and economic reforms of his first four years.
With the square packed with supporters and traditional rulers, the event officially kickstarted the next four-year phase of Soludo’s administration.
