Mo Abudu Unveils Star-Studded Cast for "The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives" Film Adaptation
Media mogul Mo Abudu has sent social media into a frenzy after announcing an expanded, A-list cast for the highly anticipated film adaptation of Lola Shoneyin’s best-selling novel, “The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives.”
This project marks a significant return to theatrical filmmaking for the EbonyLife Group after a five-year hiatus.
Leading the pack is Nollywood veteran Odunlade Adekola, who will take on the titular role of Baba Segi.
Joining the already impressive lineup are newly announced stars including Nancy Isime, Faithia Balogun Williams, Damilola Adegbite, and Uzor Arukwe.
The film also features internet sensation Maleek of Ikorodu Bois and seasoned actor Mike Ezuronye.
Directed by Daniel Oriahi, the film promises to be a masterclass in storytelling, exploring the hidden tensions, secrets, and complex power dynamics within a polygamous Nigerian household.
"The film will be a collaboration between EbonyLife Group, Genesis Group, Nile Media Entertainment Group, and Silverbird Group," the announcement confirmed.
The production is being hailed as one of the biggest collaborations in modern Nollywood history, uniting major cinema and media giants.
Fans of the original novel can look forward to a global premiere scheduled for December 2026.
With a cast that also includes Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, and Bimbo Ademoye, the film is already being positioned as the must-watch event of the 2026 holiday season.
