U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah, threatening legal action over a joke made during the 2026 ceremony and labeling the event “virtually unwatchable.”
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump condemned Noah’s monologue, which referenced Trump and former President Bill Clinton in a joke alluding to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump vehemently denied any connection to Epstein’s private island.
“I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” Trump wrote, asserting that no such allegation had been made against him by the media before. He described Noah’s remark as false and defamatory.
The president further criticized Noah’s performance, unfavorably comparing him to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, and suggested his legal team might pursue a lawsuit. “He is a pathetic and talentless master of ceremonies… My lawyers will be looking into this,” Trump stated, citing past legal battles with media figures that he claimed “worked out well” in his favor.
Trump also took aim at the Grammys broadcast, calling it one of the “worst” award shows and stating that broadcaster CBS was “lucky” to have moved on from what he termed “garbage.”
