Popular American streamer Kai Cenat has met with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during his second visit to Nigeria's commercial capital, just days after fellow content creator IShowSpeed concluded his own trip to the city.
Governor Sanwo-Olu shared a photo of their meeting at Lagos House, Marina, on his official Instagram handle. He captioned the post: “Today, I received American content creator and streamer Kai Cenat at Lagos House, Marina. It was a pleasure to meet him and hear his perspective on our city.”
The governor noted Cenat's appreciation for Lagos, stating, “This is his second visit to Lagos and his appreciation for the energy and creativity of our people came through clearly.”
Cenat first visited Lagos in March 2024, garnering significant attention for his tour of the Makoko waterfront community. During that visit, he toured the Makoko Children’s Development Foundation School and orphanage, witnessing overcrowded classrooms and limited resources.
Moved by the conditions, Cenat donated between $2,800 and $3,000 for immediate needs and pledged support for a larger $5 million project to build a proper school for Makoko children.
Kai Cenat, whose full name is Kai Michael Cenat, is a massive figure in the streaming world. He holds the all-time record for the most active subscribers on Twitch, surpassing 1 million during a subathon, and boasts over 20 million followers on the platform. Known for his high-energy, interactive livestreams with celebrities like Drake and Nicki Minaj, his return to Lagos underscores the city's growing appeal to global digital influencers.
