The Imo State Government has announced the winners of the Imo @50 Golden Jubilee Quiz, with Governor Hope Uzodimma approving a N50 million prize pool for the civic education competition.
Commissioner for Information, Strategy and Public Orientation, Declan Emelumba, in a statement, revealed the winners after a successful online screening. The one-day online quiz tested participants' knowledge of the state’s history, culture, and politics.
The overall winner is Metu Emmanuel Okwuchukwu from Owerri North LGA. The first runner-up is Ebubenna Clinton Amamefule (Isiala Mbano LGA), and the second runner-up is Oguledo Chiedozie Patrickcoleman from Ahiazu-Mbaise LGA.
Emelumba explained that entries were ranked strictly on total scores, with the earliest submission time breaking any ties. Only valid entries completed within the stipulated time were considered.
“A number of participants who achieved perfect scores within the qualifying window emerged as consolation winners,” the Commissioner added, noting that the official results list has been posted on the quiz website.
The winners are set to be formally recognized and receive their prizes during the Grande Finale of the Imo Golden Jubilee Celebrations scheduled for February 7, 2026. The initiative is part of the state’s activities to mark its 50th anniversary, engaging citizens and rewarding knowledge of Imo’s heritage.
