Davido: Why Marriage to Chioma Ended My Clubbing Lifestyle

Davido Chioma marriage podcast interview says no more clubbing lifestyle change

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about a significant lifestyle shift, crediting his marriage to Chioma Adeleke for moving him away from his former "reckless" clubbing habits.

Speaking candidly on a recent episode of The Long Form podcast, the singer revealed that his priorities have completely evolved. He contrasted his past life of constant partying with his current preference for domestic peace and family time.

“Blowing up at a young age with freedom, power and money, I used to be very reckless. I used to go to the club everyday,” Davido confessed. “But these days, I don’t even go to the clubs. I was in Nigeria for almost two months and I didn’t go out."

He detailed his new routine, which revolves around home, studio sessions, and connecting with his wife. “I was just at home and I was having fun. I was just chilling in my studio, and inviting people to make barbecue for me... I just go home, call my wife, sleep off on FaceTime,” he expressed.

The father of three clarified that he still makes professional appearances for concerts and honors invitations from close friends, but his days of casual, nightly club outings are over. He now consciously prioritizes sleep and quality time with his family over external entertainment.

This revelation has resonated with fans, painting a picture of personal growth and maturity from the 31-year-old global star, who tied the knot with his long-term partner in a lavish ceremony in 2024.
