Rapper Speed Darlington Says America Only Gave Him "Criminal Records," Built Mansion with Nigeria Money
Controversial Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has made shocking revelations about his 23-year stint in the United States, stating that all he garnered were criminal records. In a recent video cited by DAILY POST, Darlington contrasted his lack of success in the US with his achievements in Nigeria.
“America did not favor me. The only thing I have is criminal records, arrest, arrest, arrest, arrest is all I got from the USA,” he stated bluntly. The rapper explained that he left America with nothing and built his luxurious mansion with the money he earned in Nigeria.
Darlington delved into the psychological toll of living in America as a Black man, citing a loss of confidence and chronic loneliness. “In America, my self confidence is in the gutter... American society has an atmosphere where a black man is nothing and he has to over prove himself before he can get any respect,” he said.
He praised the freedom and opportunities he found in Nigeria, even referencing his infamous clash with fellow artist Portable as a financially beneficial event. “That fight I had with Portable was how I finished my mansion decking. That money helped me very well,” he claimed.
Darlington concluded that he now prefers short visits to the US to see family, valuing his mental peace and success in Nigeria over a constrained life in America.
